Robert T. Nothdurft, Jr., Esq.

Managing Attorney

Robert T. Nothdurft, Jr. is the Managing Attorney of Nothdurft Law, LLC, and concentrates in both criminal law and family law.

In his criminal law practice, Mr. Nothdurft handles all types of felony and misdemeanor offenses, including murder and other violent crimes, sex crimes, drug crimes, theft and property crimes, and serious traffic crimes, such as DUI’s and reckless driving. Never shying away from a challenge, Mr. Nothdurft holds the prosecution to its burden at every stage, including preliminary hearings, bond hearings, pre-trial suppression hearings, and ultimately, trial. Mr. Nothdurft takes a trial-oriented approach in every case, which allows him to leverage for only the best plea bargains for his clients. His ability to challenge the sufficiency of evidence has led to the dismissal of serious violent felony charges and the release of clients from jail.

In his family law practice, Mr. Nothdurft handles all types of matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, asset distribution, and post-judgment modification and enforcement. Mr. Nothdurft has navigated countless high-conflict divorce proceedings involving a wide variety of familial and complex financial issues. He works diligently to give his clients the advantage at every stage of litigation, including motions, conferences, hearings, and trial. Although Mr. Nothdurft strives to resolve his clients’ cases early in the negotiation process, he strategizes their cases knowing that trial is always a weapon at his disposal.

The blend of Mr. Nothdurft’ s family law and criminal law practice gives him the unique ability to navigate complex cases that involve family violence, which is when an individual is accused of committing a criminal offense against a family member. For that reason, Mr. Nothdurft is often retained in connection with an individual’s domestic relations case and their criminal case. Given his diverse experience, Mr. Nothdurft is able to provide continuity and consistency in his representation of clients in such matters in a way that most other practitioners simply cannot accommodate. He also has a wealth of experience representing clients in protective order (TPO) proceedings, having prosecuted them on behalf of clients who have been the victim of family violence and having defended clients against false accusations and claims that have been overly dramatized and exaggerated for personal gain. Mr. Nothdurft has successfully counseled countless clients in both types of cases.

Before opening his own firm, Mr. Nothdurft worked as a trial attorney in a wide range of cases in both Georgia and New York. He started his legal career as a public defender in New York, immediately becoming adept at litigating complex criminal cases in a fast-paced environment. Soon after, Mr. Nothdurft transitioned from public defense to private practice, where he developed an even deeper command of criminal law and procedure and expanded his practice to encompass family law and divorce. His mastery of the rules of evidence is rivaled only by his aggressive litigation style. Whether he’s litigating a motion before the bench or a trial before a jury, Mr. Nothdurft overlooks no detail as he approaches every case with tact and prowess.

More than just his tactical approach on legal and procedural issues, Mr. Nothdurft also takes the time to listen to his clients knowing that they are likely experiencing the most difficult time in their life. He gets to know his clients! He makes himself accessible to his clients and shows them compassion from start to finish. Mr. Nothdurft’s devotion to trial advocacy continues to give him the upper hand in all types of cases and makes him the attorney you want to stand by your side.
